Seems this may not be a hydraulic issue and instead a “smoke in the cockpit” anomaly, caused by an exhaust issue draining into the cockpit that was originally discovered on the 737M Leap engines. If theres a malfunction and complete shutdown of engine 1, toxic gases can bleed into the cockpit, if its engine 2 the fumes can bleed into the cabin. This aircraft is not a Max and runs CFM engines but the plumbing may be the same.
For some reason the crew decided not to lower the wheels, maybe because they were incapacitated somehow. They may have had 2 birdstrikes, during the go-around there seems to be another impact with the no.1 engine. Also none of the flaps were lowered. Both systems (flaps and wheels) are on separate A and B systems and it looks like theres 1 engine operaring on impact so they had sufficient pressure and means to lower wheels or flaps. As of now its a mystery why they didnt operate either of them. The transpnder was also turned off during the go-around. Right now it seems like total panic and confusion in the cockpit.
