bosstrabs yeah, if the Germans really thought the AstraZeneca vaccine was useless then they wouldn’t be so distraught over the fact that they and the rest of the EU are now expecting a significant delay in receiving much of it - to the extent that they’re now considering banning AZ vaccines manufactured in the EU to be shipped outside it:

Maybe the conveniently timed stories by Handelsblatt and Bild were designed to muddy the waters a bit, and make the public think the just announced delay in AZ vaccine isn’t such a big problem as it’s not that good anyway.
