I think I’m more on the side of placing an importance on accuracy, rather than pedantry.
Pedantry is typically quibbling over minor details which have little bearing on an overall argument, e.g. decimal points or the occasional spelling mistake.
Meanwhile, considering the broader accuracy of points which are fundamental to the direction of a debate is necessary.
You might try and even label this comment as being pedantic, but I don’t think being falsely slandered as a pedant is an insignificant detail.
