Decent update. The Euclidean sequencer is a massive bonus. Really good on the Digitakt II. Was hoping for a 3rd LFO but can’t have everything. Overbridge release too and now compatible with the Digitakt II.

A few new machines, workflow improvements, looks good all around. I’ll really dig into it over the weekend.

New Insectorama compilation is out today, here’s my track Easy Street that I wrote last month for it …

Unbroken1 Thanks! That max device looks handy, would save me the steep of sampling to the digitakt before moving back to ableton.

Unbroken1 Does this finally mean an end to farting about for hours in Soundflower?
I need this in my life. Thank you

303abuser Yes this is very nice. Well done. 👍

On another note, don’t get angry if I tell you I am seriously considering adding a Digitone or Digitone II to my set up.

Henry Thanks. It’s a really simple track, but I like the groove.

So I’ve never even considered the DN1, fm can be a bit of pain in the ass, but the DN2 looks really good. Likely the only thing stopping me from getting one is the idea of telling my wife that I “need” another synth lol.

Yeah never really been into FM synthesis, but the more I watch the YouTubes on the DN II the more I become tempted. And then you can pick up a DN1 for almost a 3rd of the price….
After you mentioned the Analog Four some time back, and I would be tempted with one of those. But maybe they’ll upgrade it soon? Dunno. But one thing is for sure. I need a dedicated synth to work with the ST and DT.

I don’t see any real updates coming to the A4 (or the rytm/octatrack), I think they’ve maxed out the hardware. I do love it, even though it’s not as immediate as the newer boxes. The thing that attracts me to the DN2 is the 16 tracks. Great for layering and creating polymeter chords. It’s tough to go wrong with either one and the A4 mk1 can be found used for a very reasonable price right now.

I will say, the more I use the ST, the more I find that it can do. I’m using the analog machines for all of my kick and bass duties now. It’s so easy to dial in and get interesting sounds from. And the Euclidean sequencer is a really great addition too.

Did you get an A4 in the end? There were some rumours afoot about the release of the Tonverk? I was hoping it was the A4 update. But guess this was the DN2? Or a mock up?

Yeah then Syntakt is a strange box for me. Needs a lot of layering to get the most out of it. Since I got the DT I haven’t been using as much. Need to get back into it again.

I’ve had an A4 for about 6 years or so, it was my introduction to elektron. The Tonverk thing is all just rumours (stemming from a patent I think) at this point. I’m assuming their roadmap is to discontinue the original trinity and replace them with the ST/DT/DN and maybe another flagship box. Who knows though, I don’t think anyone saw the DN2 coming this soon.

The ST is so good for bass. Kicks, toms, modulated square wave stuff, I use it for everything. The new HH Lab machine is interesting too.

Just picked up a used (‘as new’) Digitone up on eBay for just over £300, which is almost 1/3rd the price a DN II. So now have a golden trinity of Elektron boxes and another rabbit hole and no doubt yet more dozens of unfinished tracks are on the way.
I was really tempted by the A4, but that would require a bigger desk and in the end having the 3 near identical boxes sitting side by side will at least look aesthetically pleasing, if nothing else.

Henry yet more dozens of unfinished tracks

        A way of life
