Jules72 Dubman yeah I’ve tried loads of different beans from loads of different roasters, but I always come back to coffee compass
Old-Dutch Picked up a bag of Cherry Cherry, Sweet Bourbon and Brighton Lanes a few weeks ago. All 3 are great
Cankles-McJeggings Millsy Lol. Previously he was adding squirty Anchor cream to his Mellow Birds presumably? I bet he thought George Clooney was delivering it.
Unbroken1 Dubman …I mean, he’s freakishly enthusiastic about coffee (former-world champion barista), but I wouldn’t call him ‘serious’. I find him strangely entertaining.
RichM Unbroken1 I’ve watched quite a few of his YouTube videos, I like his enthusiasm to coffee, and have learnt a few things along the way
vinnyt77 Bored of pod coffee, and gonna get myself a decent coffee maker. Looking to spend up to a grand. Daily cup of black coffee (Americano type style) and occasional Espresso. Frothy coffee can do one. Reccos?
rhouses Save yourself $850 and get the Moka Pot Brikka if you have about 15 mins to spare in the morning. We’ve just got the aeropress for something a little quicker. Haven’t used it yet.
Millsy You don’t need to spend loads of money on a bean to cup machine imo. I’ve had coffee from a £300 machine and a £1500 machine, same beans and it’s the same cup of coffee. The DeLonghi Magnifica is an absolute workhorse and won’t break the bank.
Dubman Millsy I’ve got an old Delonghi Caffe Corso machine. It make fantastic coffee. Personally I think it’s down to beans you buy & how strong you like it. @vinnyt77 I get all my beans from coffee compass in Littlehampton. I love their Mystery blend 15 but there’s many more. I did notice a small coffee roaster in Portslade https://www.smallbatchcoffeeroasters.co.uk/
RichM I would get a decent grinder and get an aeropress(would cost much less than a grand). I love the aeropress, makes a cracking black coffee and so simple to use. Obviously that doesn’t help if you want some decent espressos. So depends how much you want to have espressos and what quality. If you are after an espresso with a decent creama then machines that do that well start to cost a fortune.
rhouses RichM the brikka is made for crema. Agreed on the grinder, takes the coffee to another level. Just not sure I have the patience to add one more step in the morning.
