Homegrove …tell me about it, the desk wasn’t designed for this, and I need to be super-careful with my back since an injury 18-months ago. Raising the mixer a couple of inches would improve it drastically, although to be honest, I want to clear the desk for production/editing duties, so thinking about a separate console of some sort.

Cheers Matt 😉

Grant: …still feel like I’m getting used to the mixer, a glass of vino deffo helps!

Love the set-up Damo! Especially the speakers-what are they? I agree with homegrove though-you deffo need a chair. I can’t remember the last time I mixed while standing! Haha

Thom_Fuckery …Adam A77X, not had them long, they’ve been fantastic so far.

A chair!? I can’t DJ sitting-down.. I’d feel like the Wurlitzer player at an old cinema

Liebing streams 6 hour techno-sets sitting down. Even more wrong than his music.

Lol! Yeah I’m a lazy fucker. Got my mixer stood up vertical, feet up on the coffee table, sat back in my comfy as fuck white office chair. Beats standing up hands down!!

Homegrove …yeah, I dunno, Rosenfeld did a great session seated in his studio, but it somehow feels a bit more acceptable when triggering tracks with a computer rather than cueing/beatmatching etc.

Jimpster seems to get away with mixing on his sofa, but I like to get a (admittedly low-key/middle-aged) groove-on when I’m in the zone.

…how’s the sound quality by the way?

Having real issues getting the levels right. The mixer has a dedicated ‘Tape out’ but is still way too hot for my iPhone. Only way I can get around it is connecting the Main phono out, and turning the master super-low… hence me having to turn the monitors way up to max to hear anything.

Need an in-line attenuator… something like this:

          https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/Koma-Elektronik-Attenuator-Cable/art-SYN0004623-000

…but seems a bit of a frankenstein solution. Any ideas?

FAO OF DAMO - Some feedback if I may…

          1. The sound is fine for my ears, balance sounds a little too much at the low end if anything?
          2. Tripod wobble looks great, like you’re shaking the fuck out of the bass.
          3. Curly headphone cables are a winner.
          4. Maybe consider flicking some gang signs after each mix?

          …nice one Cyril, cheers!

Gang signs not really my style, I was however thinking of introducing more heart-hands gestures, and chest-clutching while mouthing ‘I… LOVE… YOU’

Unbroken1 tell me about it, the desk wasn’t designed for this

Please fix this asap, it’s making me nauseous just watching.

Mad_Cyril make life easier so ditching the Traktor S2 (up for grabs if anyone interested before I chuck on ebay).

Appreciate this might be the Fisher Price end of the spectrum on here!

Email received, delivery gone back to August.

            Bugger.

Redirected order to a German site promising stock by 17th June.

The Germans are more efficient right.?

            Anyone used a Xone: DB4?

Just had a quick watch of a demo and like the look of the looping and high/low pass filters for fucking about with tunes on the fly. Also like the sound of being able to use it as a midi controller and sound card for production stuff.

mono-stereo …nice mixer, good sound, filters/EQ typical A&H quality, built-in soundcard v useful for Traktor etc. Looping works OK, but not sure why you’d use it if you have CDJ’s or Traktor as their on-board looping is prob better.

My only real negative observation was that build felt a little plastic-y compared to the 92, but not heard others really complain about this

I have the DB2 . Stripped down effects vs the DB4 but overall had the thing for a year and just a scratching the surface. Fuck knows what sorcery you can whip up on a DB4. I used to swear by Pioneer mixers until I found a brand new dead stock 62 . Sound on AHs , especially phono pre amps, in a different league to the DJMs in the same price point IMO.

Diggers has been using a DB4 for years. He’s probably the guru on it. Love to see him do some tutorials
