DJ setups/Mixer porn/New toys thread...
Along_the_Wire To be fair, it’s more than good enough for me mind.
Yeah, the 96khz-one in the Nexus-gear is an overkill in most situations. The XDJs have 48khz which is enough, considering almost all music is 44 khz.
Dubman You were quick, I messed up sending a PM!
Along_the_Wire
Thank god for that. I thought I was hallucinating.
Interested to hear the scoop on the 3000s . Very similar footprint to the 2000s. Thought they’d make the screen a bit bigger
That thing is huge.
It almost looks the size of a 1210.
…hope its a prototype, horrible top-heavy design and the platter is in the way of the cue buttons. The XDJ line are much nicer to look at IMO
I’m loving the graphics in the centre of the platter. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t put pads on there like the XDJ series
Along_the_Wire …it just looks like they’ve added more to it, instead of rethinking the design from the ground-up. Like I said, it might be a prototype, but based on Pio’s history of leaks, that’s probably it.
Meh. Not that I was buying one anyway. But will keep an eye out for good deals for a used NX2-players.

Love the new kit Grant. You spawny git
Homegrove …feel like Mojaxx nails it in his summary, conservative with a small ‘c’. They couldn’t afford to be too radical with the redesign for fear of alienating their base, ie. not generally domestic consumers but predominantly venues and hire companies.
Some nice features though, the track preview (and track playing preview) are cool, the master track/waveform display is great and overall the screen looks gorgeous, smoother and much higher res than it did in the leaked pics. Build quality deffo MUCH more suited to a top-of-the-range player.
People will whinge about the lack of dual layer deck control like the Denons, personally I’d be unlikely to use it, but might have been nice to have in a player at that price (2 decks for the price of 1- kinda thing) and somehow think it wouldn’t have been that hard to implement.
Interested to see how they refresh the XDJ’s now…
There maybe some hidden tricks up its sleeve, like wifi for steaming / ability to dual layer through firmware (though I dont see any relevant buttons). A very “Pioneer” update. Not upsetting the apple cart.
Like the artwork in the middle / circular screen etc. I’m visually driven, so seeing the artwork at a decent size is appreciated.
The IEC lock is a nice touch too.
