IndustryStandard was very close to buying one but have decided to go for a db4, the mastersounds stuff looks amazing
DJ setups/Mixer porn/New toys thread...
Need to organise/sell some of my kit when I get round to it / have it all setup. Building a garden room currently thats going to be my studio / TV room / man cave . Have a DB2/Xone 62 and Xone 23 . No real justification of buying one of these apart from…….well…they look so good Maybe just the Raduis 2 for a vinyl setup!
Heno db4 looks great but i can’t help thinking they are about to replace it.

mono-stereo They’ve retired the DB2 and that was released after the DB4, so agree .
Now Diggers have moved onto the V10 A&H have to up their game. Surprised their PX5 never seemed to take off. A few on this board had it if I remember correct and loved it. Looks superb but sort of lost the buzz around it. Suppose the 96 got released around the same time and punters went for that
…the fact that its operationally almost identical to the A&H V6/S6 is why I think the MS Radius is such incredible value.
DB4 is very long in the tooth now…. not convinced they will replace it tbh, I think the 96 offers the kind of flexibility that is much more desirable these days.
PX5 is a nice mixer but so many A&H users mix with the filters, only having a single master filter is a real shame IMO (cue Hannu!).
Eh, yes I have the PX:5 and yes I love it, but I’ve always been an EQU-guy, mainly use the filter when exiting a track, to smother it out. Fuĺl kill EQU on the mixer is all I need.
…conversely, I never touched the EQ after using a mixer with a HPF, although my new one is iso-only, so I guess is more EQ than filter
Yes. You are now mixing the way I’m mixing, as you could say the PX:5 has an iso on every channel.
…dunno about you, but I only ever use the iso subtractively, I read about people ‘boosting frequencies’ but I never fuck with tracks like that when mixing
Yeah, me neither.
…I asked Justin at Isonoe if he was interested in putting a filter on my mixer… he wasn’t
loopdokter Yeah I know….now Managing Director at Defected.
Why do you still have dealings with the new owner? Krafted own it all now.
I use the Vestax PMC CX. Never really wanted anything else. What extras would a new mixer offer?
The CX is almost 20 years old after all.
Nothing wrong with a trusty workhorse. Only reason I switched my Xone 62 to PX:5 was the audio interface.

Dan Why do you still have dealings with the new owner? Krafted own it all now.
That’s the point. I don’t. Wez signed up a few of my things back when he was running the label and was always on top of accounts, etc. Solid dude.
Then Krafted took over, I hit them for royalties owed after a year and change and the owner told me he wouldn’t pay out unless it reached 50 quid - which was laughable because the money owed isn’t his. That was never in my contract either.
It wasn’t worth going after him by the time I’d consulted a solicitor and all that. The music industry is fucked up enough as is to bother with crumpets like that.
I haven’t received a single account from them since them having taken over. Good labels just send out their accounts and that’s that done. We’re all chasing the same pork scratchins and pulling stunts like that is shoddy as fuck.
loopdokter We did loads of remixes for them year ago. I wouldn’t expect anything tbf. This why i don’t waste my time making music…..total waste of time in the digital era.
