My parting gift is the XZ successor - A leak I’ve been waiting for, maybe you have. But it’s not what we thought.
I couldn’t not post this since I’ve been masticating over the XZ successor for a long time. For some this is mixer porn but I don’t think anyone in here will want it. I may end up with it but I’m still not sure.
So here it is.
Pioneer Opus Quad 4 Channel All In One
Approximately £3000.
(Text has been google-translated to English)
Priced slightly below 3000€.
Powerful and intuitive 4-channel DJ mixer with USB, LAN and Bluetooth. But with the OPUS-QUAD, Pioneer has stepped away from conventional controllers in terms of design and created a product that stands out in the club, restaurant or private party.
DJs can connect any type of device to the OPUS-QUAD, including USB sticks, SSD drives, PC/Mac running DJ software, record box for iOS/Android on smartphone via Wi-Fi or even a Bluetooth unit. The XY-Pad makes it easy to control functions (such as FX Bank and channel selection, Beat FX parameters and the filter’s cutoff frequency) so they are controlled by movements on the X and Y axis. This allows the DJ to mix both effects with a single finger. There are also popular Smooth Echo and Sound Color FX functions to get creative with.
Finding your tracks is faster and more accurate than ever with the newly designed 10.1-inch touchscreen. Here you can access the Playlist Bank, a keyboard, and track previews etc. There is also a new Smart Rotary Selector.
Thanks to the zone output (which can output sound separate from the master), it is possible to play different music in different rooms from a single OPUS-QUAD.

Personal Observation
Bold move from Pioneer, many things have been re-arranged or made to work from the screen. The Beat FX are actually a button on the left of the screen (I don’t approve)
The three screen idea is brilliant. The CDJ-3000 style Pads are a good idea. That 10 inch screen makes me quite moist.
I don’t think it’s trying to be like the club-standard like the XZ has done, it is aimed at the growing professional mobile DJ sector, it will divide house and techno DJs who want the sheen but also the standard layouts, and it is going to cause a stir. Be aware that someone online said they’ve seen it in the flesh and it is bigger than the XZ (!) that means it is fucking huge and pictures won’t do any justice compared with standing in front of it.
I do believe it will be fucking lovely in the flesh regardless of the various quirks and weird edges, so it would probably be best that I avoid touching it or stepping in the same room as it before my bank manager chins me.
Take it easy guys.
Nass out x
Edit: This retailer is the third to leak it, but has still left it online all day this time. https://www.bekafun.com/nl/news/n/406/Pioneer-Opus-Quad
