From a purely physiological/ cardio point of view I would strongly advocate against the ‘top-off’ approach for any strenuous activity. ‘Top-on’ increases fluid loss, mimics hypovolaemia and is a better cardio workout all round. Aesthetics aside of course, I would recommend the ‘top-on’ approach for almost anything arduous.
Definitely some power and kitchen sink in this mix! Not for the faint hearted. Filed under….. Power.
