Hursty we have an air pump. We heat our whole house with it when it’s over -5 C outside. When it dips below that we open a few radiators, which are heated with oil, same as our hot water. There are air pump-systems powerful enough to replace our oik furnace too, but they cost about 10K so we’re still saving money for it. We’re in no rush, as we only go through about 1000 litres of heating oil per year.
The Climate Change Thread
What are your views on the low carbon city transport option of e-scooters @Amps?
It would appear they are heading to the ban list in some places, citing issues around safety, even though people die or are injured no matter whether they walk, cycle, or drive to work
Seems like it could be a way to ensure taxes are buoyed by banning them? There isn’t much tax revenue generated from their use, no CAZ income etc

Manchildren who need to grow the fuck up and prepubescent miscreants in charge of fucking killing machines. How they passed any form of road traffic safety or even the most basic of health and safety risk assessments I have no fucking idea.
Death traps for both rider and pedestrian. I fucking hate them and any cunt who rides one.
Cankles-McJeggings Lol, do you have them in the outback?

Hursty They’re a lovely idea, but the reality has it’s issues. I think somewhere like Amsterdam they make a lot of sense, but most of the western world just doesn’t have the infrastructure for them. If we focused on more dedicated hard kerbed cycle lanes for cyclists it’d be a start.
As ever, the government has no interest in getting the tiny penis crew out of their twat panzers, an easy to solve problem, so they’re not about to make any big pay outs for for bike infrastructure any time soon.
The e-scooters work well here in Istanbul. Granted, health & safety isn’t a concept here so there could be hundreds dying on the roads here without me knowing.
Thanks again for your time.
Regards.
Homegrove Yeah, the main argument for Northern and Southern cities is that the elements become an issue, or for anywhere that isn’t flat, the hills become an issue. But it’s mostly bollocks. Plenty of people cycle in cold climates and plenty of people cycle in mountainous areas. The Swiss fuckin love a push bike.
And it works the other way too, there are lots of flat places with mild climates where nobody cycles because the infrastructure is all car orientated.
Good on the Oulu civic crew for getting their shit together ️
Schiphol airport say they are banning private jets, which is a start.
Lol, drop in the ocean.
Will they ban E scooters in Holland though?
They can’t even stand to see you return a fuckin bottle. They must make the maximum amount of profit at all costs.
Love the idea of bottle deposit scheme, works really well in other countries. Hopefully it will eventually come into existence
We’ve perfected it. I can’t understand how hard it is for other countries to do it.
