His numbers in general are boss, and the world cup is 9 months away, not sure about the timing.

Amps England weren’t going anywhere under Jones. We’re currently a ¼ final team at best, which isn’t good enough, and I don’t think the team would have markedly improved under Jones in the next 9 months.

New coach has the chance to improve things, change some of the mentality and philosophy. If it works out, great. If it doesn’t - so be it, he didn’t have enough time to completely overhaul things.

Maybe, maybe not, but I wonder if a consistent selection and a good showing in the 6 Nations might not have been a spring board to something.

Anyway, here’s hoping Ford and the Vunipola brothers never get a game for England ever again.

Amps, what does your Twitter feed say about it?

        What’s the consensus?!

Borthwick has dropped Billy Vunipola for the 6 Nations. Feels like a good start imo!

Thought we were very average yesterday, but not bad for a ‘new’ side. Tackling was comedy at times.

bosstrabs The opening game was only yesterday, not sure you can make the ‘captain’ shout there.

A lol for Amps and the boot cut jeans post!

Amps My expectations for England for the tournament are so low, that yesterday felt like a half-decent performance. Slightly fewer unforced errors, slightly fewer daft penalties given away. As Yazz would have said…

alistair Can’t disagree with that. Farrell’s no longer an infallible goal kicker. His last couple of performances from the tee for England have been woeful. He’s certainly not good enough to keep his place at 12 on open play merit.

I’d keep Smith, and find an alternative at inside centre to replace Farrell I reckon…
