Based on many of our discussions, I think it is safe to say that it is difficult to deliver a high quality disc 2 that will stand the test of time. Whether it is because jocks felt the need to deliver the hits, or because they just shot their loads on disc 1, it seems that the second disc almost never out shines the first. So, with that in mind, let me hear which two disc mixes have a second disc that is an absolute peach. Some obvious rules:
- Must be a two disc mix. Three discs and beyond are disqualified.
- The same DJ must have mixed both discs.
- Sasha Ibiza is not an acceptable answer, and is neither clever nor funny.
- The first disc has to be of substantial quality. A disc 1 stinker doesn’t mean that the second is obviously great.
And now, a few of my selections:
- Emerson: Singapore
- Kleinenberg: This is Everybody
- Wink: Profound Sounds V.3
