lol disc 1 of NY is so insane. It’s as if he’d never heard a single one of the records before, and had only just watched a 20 minute youtube video on how to dj with vinyl! before stepping into the booth. Every single transition is one of those ones that all budding djs remember where you don’t fully get it until you hear both records coming out of the speakers and you’re like ooh fuck these don’t work, and you quickly get out of the first and into the second as fast as you can. You also get at least one of those moments where you think both records are working, but get so stoked on yourself that you forget to use EQs, or any of the controls really, and the record you meant to mix out of just suddenly stops. iircc there is even one of those transitions were you just can’t get the bpm right, its always to fast or slow, and you hit that moment were the record that’s playing has gotten all the way to the point when it’s just a kick drum and your like aaah shit gotta get this on asap! So from a technical point of view, it is an astonishing mix, i will give you that.
