BlainSA Coffee and creatine lads. Or speed.

Too much coffee and I get a bit shaky when I’m lifting, creatine drinks make the keto / fasting almost impossible as they spike your insulin for days, and speed… the less said the better…

whatever should have taken some sort of supplement.

The supplements are a bit of a mind field though, they can fuck up the other things you are trying for like keto or fasting. At the minute I’ve just taken it on the chin and accepted I won’t be doing any PBs in the near future.

    bosstrabs Not tricky at all.

Should have been more specific, with this bit: or anything else that will have been cooked in veg oil of any sort. Trickier than it sounds.

It’s in all sorts of stuff you would buy of the shelf at Waitrose or Booths. The new palm oil for us Grauniad readers!

Amps Haven’t done Keto, but creatine works fine for me with fasting. Speed is the obvious choice out of the three.

BlainSA Massive corrugated sheet of pink champagne?

Trouble with your performance due to aging you say?

Smallman1 Bad carbs, like beer and chips, good carbs like proper vegetables/fruit are fine, also some spirits are ok too believe

bosstrabs Ed has Bad T, made his neck grow instead of other more appropriate body parts.

Amps My favourite Smallman moment was when he went to ask about a neck tattoo, and they quoted him for a sleeve.

The cruelty on Dave today is absolutely off the chain!

Smallman1 That’s because I’m 3 days into a 2-week home quarantine because I passed through an area of Shanghai with COVID cases.

            Smallman’s face looks like a disused lock-up

-si- lots of good advice here with supplements and such, but i’ll toss my 2 cents in as i’ve gone through this and almost completely resolved my joint pain. 5 years ago, i couldn’t run on concrete my knees were so bad, plus some shoulder and thumb pain from work.

in order of most to least impact, here’s what i did.

            1. keto. cutting out carbs and eating an anti-inflammatory diet is the single best change i made. that includes supplements like magnesium, potassium, omega 3s, and turmeric, among others.

            2. cbd every day and full spectrum thc edibles 3-4 days a week. i can’t tell you how much edibles have lowered my joint inflammation. helps that it’s legal here and i have a ton of options, but it works.

            3. insanity. hiit workouts, especially the lunges/squats keep everything strong so your knees do less work.

            4. i broke my foot, which forced me to not play soccer or run for 6 months.

until covid decided to destroy my life, i was back to running up to 13 km on concrete with no residual knee pain and i’m in better shape than i’ve ever been. if you try one thing on this list, keto is it.
