Jules72 cheers and yeah, i do meditate, just not as often as i should. the problem with theses anxiety episodes is that meditation/breath focus makes it worse. my doctor basically said i’m already doing everything i should be, short of meds, which i’m avoiding at all costs.

i think it’s just going to be a matter of time and slowly returning to normal fitness activities. i really believe being able to run again would help a lot, hopefully i can try next week.

The kind of episodes where it’s better to keep your mind busy than trying to quieten it?

BlainSA for the most part. i’m waaaay better at controlling it now than i was a 4 or 5 weeks ago, but reading and making music help a lot still. if i focus too much on my heart beat (even if it’s not elevated), the anxiety seems to creep up faster.

Jules72 Any pointers / recommendations on things to watch / read for a novice?

Smallman1 good shout - it’s def a bit more chilled than the “tops off” disc 2.

303abuser yeah running helps me big time…. I’ve used it to get through very difficult times so I totally know what you mean… you’ll be through this soon enough 👍

wrongun yep I learnt via the headspace app - it has a really good tutorial. During my divorce my stress levels were so intense and my insomnia so bad that I was meditating 30-45 mins a day in 15 min blocks… if you stay disciplined and stick to it it, I think it works. It can be a month or two before you see good results though

Jules72 two months ago i could do 13 km in just under an hour. today, 2 km in 20 minutes followed by a one hour nap. 😅

The cure, lads. Less minerals, more cabbage (explains Si’s tip top shape).

Turbo cabbage soup no doubt means turbo toots. No bed sharing on that diet. Extra calories burned through regular super rippers.

            A lol for Jonatton.

I would be a terrific looking lass too.

303abuser Bugger I’m averaging 12 mins per km on my walks. lol. And quite happy with that too!

              Thank you Sir.
Thankfully I’m on the mend. The pain is receding on a daily basis.

rhouses haha keep at it. 10 years ago i was running 7 minute kms, by last fall i was down to 4:45, but i also work my ass off to keep fit. i was happy with my 5 km walk this morning, for perspective.

Dubman back pain is awful, especially with everything else on top of that. hope you’re doing better soon.

The back pain although bad was not a patch compared to the pain of Shingles.
