I don’t go very often, but when I do it’s because it’s something I’m familiar with, has an actor in it I really like or it’s been highly recommended.

Yesterday, I went to see a comedy called The Shark Is Broken - it was absolutely brilliant - it based on the three characters from Jaws - Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfus and Roy Schneider - apparently, they all hated each other - it’s just the three of them. Robert Shaw is played by his son and he steals the show and makes quite a few touching jokes about his dad who died an alcoholic at 51. The run finished today, so you’re fucked if you want to see it, but if you get the chance somewhere else, go and see it.

Read an article about this. No love lost between them. The son was interviewed in the article too. Twas a good read. Thanks.

New highbrow low for the board.

LT42 honestly Robert Shaw’s son was great and there were brilliant one-liners about his dad and him

That play does look appealing - Big Jaws fan.

Last time I went to the theatre was for American Buffalo with Damian Lewis, John Goodman and Tom Sturridge. Cap doffed for Lewis meeting all the punters afterwards, seems a top bloke.

Dan Luckily I read that they all hated each other filming it - would’ve wondered what the hell went on. Also knowing Robert Shaw died at 51 and his son was playing his part made it. It really was brilliant.

Along_the_Wire I can imagine Dreyfuss being a tad precious and Shaw proper old school.

Smallman1 LOL. He is a good Southgate. Saw Roahl Dahl’s ‘The Witches’ at the National last week- really good fun- esp if you have kids
