Plumps had some absolute slammers in their day.

Zabiela’s “Scram / Higher State” thing leveled a party he played around ‘02 or ‘03.

Their mix of Orbital was a fav of mine when I used to play out more often. Same with Stakker Humanoid remix. Plumps were boss.

Smallman1 I was prolly there mate I hardly missed a Stanton Sessions or Plump Night out, remember I was suffering with the flu one night but my flatmate dragged me out. I got horrifically pissed and felt fine all night, next day Ive never felt so bad in my life

It was absolute bedlam at those nights, you had people literally trying to climb into the DJ booth. One morning towards the end some dickhead tried to perform a handstand on one of the grills below the balcony and fell straight through – I thought someone had dropped a dummy or summat when I saw it.

I spoke to Scoot about it, he said the fella in question was so drunk he couldn’t even remember being in Fabric - the dopey c**t could have killed someone let alone himself

Still, what nights they were

Swayzak-one is not in Tidal. Rats. But I think I have it from Boomkat somewhere.

      Fucking lol!

nicksneddon Agreed, people can be snobby about the plumps but I had some cracking nights in fabric with them playing. This tune used to sound great in room 1

Absolutely – along with the Stantons they were just pure goodtime party clubbing. Which is what it should be about imo

When I lived in Sydney in 2004, they absolutely loved the breaks, remember some Aussie Dj opening up with a breaks remix of AC/DC’s Thunderstruck, had the place going nanas.

          Smallman1

The Burning Man crowd were well into the breaks (Freq Nasty and the like) before moving onto Psy Trance and now that god awful ADID floating nonsense. At least when it was breaks heavy the fundraising parties were actually fun.

I remember your mix that won, I think, Mercury Server? Pretty breaks heavy and fucking excellent.

Thank you mate, yeah it was iirc - I’ve been trying to track it down if you come across it

I had a subscription to both Fabric and FabricLive up until number 34.

Two overlooked early ones that are absolute bangers: Fabric 08 Radioactive Man (still probably my all time favourite of the series) and FabricLive 03 DJ Hype. Also good: Fabric 12 Amalgamation of Sounds.

bosstrabs Good shout on the Radioactive Man – I just went over to Discogs there and bought a copy, fuck knows what happened to my original one.
