Becoming a bit of a connoisseur, exploring the world of coffee. India seems to be having a renaissance, with tons of start up getting into the game. Can’t seem to go wrong with a dark roast vienna, but have been dabbling in other varieties. Not a fan of an ‘acidic’ flavour. Using my brikka moka pot every morning is quite therapeutic for some reason.

What contraption do you use for your coffee? Any tips for the moka pot? And what’s your roast of choice? etc etc.

I fucking love coffee but I’ve become intolerant to it from hammering it at work for years.

Recently found out that adding a pinch of baking powder kills the acidity and it might not have as bad an effect on me. Going to try this a few more times and report in.

Long live coffee!

Aeropress was a game changer for me. Always freshly grind your beans. (Homo alert) Am a huge fan of gesha coffee as I like the floral, fruity flavours in light roasted coffee.

The morning ritual of making a coffee is now one of life’s simple pleasures

RichM Yup, pretty much everyone telling me to get the beans and grind myself. That’s some commitment, plus the wife won’t be happy with the all the noise it will make in the morning.

Probably sounds nicer than you straining out a humongous 6am turd though.

Always used to bring a kg of peaberry plantation beans form India. But I reckon their not that good. But I notice loads of small coffee roasters starting up all over Goa.

Dubman Try KC Roasters, Gray Soul or Blue Tokai next time you’re here, Dubbers. Easily available on Amazon India, and you can choose the grind as well.

The last time I bought some back I got stopped in customs and while they searched my bag they split the coffee bag. Had coffee beans everywhere.

rhouses bean to cup machine is the way to go – try Sage - we hammer it at work and is pretty consistent

Rhouses and Coffee, an excuse to demolish a full box of Krispy Kreme at 7am in the morning

The whole coffee thing has totally passed me by in life. We have a swanky coffee machine at work and on the rare occasion it is out of order some of my colleagues look like their world has ended. Have never quite understood it….have tried a few different types but have never been invested in it like some

I’ve always hated coffee breath. It’s fucking minging. Akin to smoking breath. People leaning into your airspace like IT cunts reeking of it is a big fucking issue for me.

Are these bean to cup machines able to produce a cup of coffee on a par with a perfectly balanced mellow birds and coffee mate combo?

They could always go and buy one from somewhere.

Americano’s and pepsi dopamine through the roof, hard to beat.

Dubman passed a small town on the train this weekend called Berkwell, did make me chuckle
