Vinyl would be Perfecto, Jackpot, JBO. Digital, probably Freerange.

I’ve just got to upgrade my mixer to something I can connect to my laptop so I can record a vinyl mix. Most of the music apart from the trance stuff which sounds so shit.

      sbando Freerange

Good shout there. What the hell ever happened to Switch/Solid Groove? I know he did stuff with Major Lazer. Loved his tracks back in the early aughts. Fell off the map.

Dubman and i’ve got the mixer (still have my vestax from 20 years ago), just need a new cart and stylus for my one remaining 1200. i’d love a fancy new digital mixer for my synths too, but that’s down the road a bit.

I’m still using my old Numark DM 2002X mixer but my decks are still in mint condition.

Dubman that brings back memories, had that as my first mixer. was great until i wore out the faders and pots lol. replaced it with the vestax pcv 275 in 2001 maybe. outside of a bit of a crackle at the top of the faders (probably dust because i’ve never taken it apart to clean it), it’s still working perfectly.

Mines pretty knackered now. it doesn’t sound that great & I’ve got pieces of cardboard stuck in the channels otherwise the sound cuts out.

haha that’s where i got to with it, think i just gave it away in the end.

Fluid I reckon. Favourite label for a good few years in the late 90s and early 2000s. Think I bought every release they put out at the time…

          Sunburn or Mo Wax

303abuser Mate this could be very true ….I mean I like loads of stuff - I am as old as the hills so I start with post punk and end up at Dub techno and virtually everything in between !!!! Not sure there is a direct link from the Specials to Luigi Tozzi …….but thinking about it there probably is!!!!

baggers44 lots of Plastic City ….EBE…Timewritee stuff…..stuff on Greyhound….there used to be this shop in Covent Garden called Eukatech and I’d come out of there with all sorts of strange sounding things - well it sounded strange at the time anyway.

Sounds a bit like me. got into punk whilst i was at school then the specials ,madness etc. After that it was Hiphop & Reggae until Acid house came along in 89 from then on it’s been almost all electronica plus some hiphop & reggae

Dubman that’s it for me it was The Jam, The Who and all that Mod stuff, Specials, Joy Divison and Cocteaus at school , Style Council (sorry!), then was really into Pet Shop Boys before Hip hop hit in about 86-7 which I was into right through to the Stone Roses with a bit of Trouble Funk and Rare Groove thrown in. My mate got me into house music - I think we went to a warehouse gig in Battersea at Westworld in about 86 and they were playing this amazing new music then. Missed out on all the London raves in 88-90. Not cool enough! Never went to Shoom or any of that . I think we used to go to the Fridge ….not the same thing at all. Always loved JM Jarre and Kraftwerk whenever I heard it - and Philp Glass oddly (I think I saw that film where he did the soundtrack). Got into music seriously in the mid 90s after I heard Oakenfold close the season in Ibiza one year. Then it all sort of sprouted from there ….vocal garage/house, trance, prog, more prog then some west coast tech house in the early 2000s - a fallow period then a reawakening a few years ago - techno - melodic and less so and more dubby things ….on and on….. Started going to Bedrock from about late 98. Early Fabric then packed it in as feeling too old! Then weirdly last year on an impulse, after about 10 yrs, someone offered me a ticket to see Baumel at the Afterlife party at Printworks and I said yes. Bit hesitant going in. It started at noon and was all over in time for Match of the Day. It was quite unexpectedly an emotional experience-just being back in a club listening to that music when i thought that part of my life was over. Not too many strange looks …had a few larks……The people were how I remembered clubbers were/are ….!!! And that’s me - apologies for oversharing - its been a funny few months!

Vinyl Bedrock and Yoshitoshi, digital no fucking idea.

baggers44 there used to be this shop in Covent Garden called Eukatech and I’d come out of there with all sorts of strange sounding things - well it sounded strange at the time anyway.

Eukatech did indeed seem to have a lot of strange sounding records.

No apologies needed. I love hearing these types of stories. I also has a break from going out mid 90’s due to moving in with my ex & more importantly a break from doing way to many pills.

                    Homegrove
Would’ve thought digital would have been easier unless you remove the label name from the file.

                    Boys Own
                    Perfecto
                    Platypus
