Homegrove But kept alive by folks constantly regurgitating nonsense off that there twitter

Dawn “Join A Union” Foster? Lols. Imagine being sandwiched between her and hanners at the afters in ed’s gaff! Off your fucking tits, innocently ask for a black coffee and all hell is let loose. Both ears melted into oblivion while all you want to do is hear the breakdown on breeder remix of the phoenix…

-si- …Obama is so fucking bang-on in that BBC clip, the problem with ‘woke’-ness and cancel culture is that it ends all debate, and fuck-all ever gets sorted out when that happens.

Transphobic piece of shit. She’s a horrible person.

That list is a fucking joke, full of people who have tried (and sometimes succeeded) in getting people fired from their jobs for something they’ve said. Bari Weiss for example got started for trying to get Palestinians kicked out of US universities.

    Homegrove

The article states “her controversial stance on the transgender community, which critics have called transphobic” - some people on twitter accusing her of being “transphobic” is not proof of her actually being transphobic.

I was curious if you were actually capable of pinpointing the exact part of her stance which can reasonably be defined as “transphobic” and not just a stance on the issue which you disagree with.

“Transphobia” can obviously exist, but I wanted to see you if you can specify exactly what she’s said which justifies that tag; the article you posted doesn’t do that.

Kells77 as per my response to Hannu above, the accusations referenced in that article, while accusing her of transphobia, don’t actually demonstrate that she’s transphobic. If she is, the article doesn’t prove it.

Also, Hannu was the person accusing her of being transphobic - he should supporting on what basis making such an accusation is valid. I wanted to hear what he had to say in justifying his claim. I’m already aware of the Rowling/trans debate btw, I just wondered how Hannu had managed to come to his conclusion.

hugopal Well to be fair, how do you “prove” someone’s transphobic, other than judging their words and actions?

But I get your point. I think it’s just that the question was received in a confrontational manner, given some of your other banter on here. Hannu’s allowed his opinion, he’s provided the source for his conclusion, and there’s no REAL way to prove she is or she isn’t, so I’m not sure there’s anything else that can be provided.

To be honest, I can understand why burds wouldn’t want somebody with an adam’s apple and a massive swinging lob-on wandering into their changing rooms and then telling everyone in there it was their right to be there.

That doesn’t make me transphobic. That is just my reflection on the cold, hard experience of being removed from women’s changing rooms.

bosstrabs That is just my reflection on the cold, hard experience of being removed from women’s chan

Ceiling tiles aren’t as robust as they look are they Dave

Kells77 there’s no REAL way to prove she is or she isn’t

And yet we have absolute mental cases whose ability to present cold, hard facts come in the form of sharing tweets, happy to label her as a transphobic piece of shit. I’m just playing devils advocate on here as per but the shit people get away with now under the banner of fighting for social justice is staggering. That’s not a rant at you, Kells. Just pointing out a fact.

i’ve followed nothing about this jk rowling story, but from those tweets, is she not just identifying a difference between biological sex and gender identification?

Careful now 303, you’ll be getting a ku klux Klan hood in the JC secret Santa at this rate…

              Homegrove
Think this is more another example of cancel culture types getting mortally offended at someone expressing an opinion.

One should be able to discuss ‘difficult subjects’ without being screamed at because your view doesn’t comply with someone elses

Kells77 Hannu’s allowed his opinion, he’s provided the source for his conclusion,

He didn’t present it as “his opinion” though - he outright called her “transphohic” (not that if he’d have framed it as just his opinion it would have been much less questionable).

As Mad Cyril and si indicate above, Hannu’s accusation is demonstrative of exactly one of the key issues which the letter is pointing out - people are throwing around what are serious allegations as casually and mindlessly as a batty woman chucking bits of stale bread to pigeons, and furthermore people are subsequently believing them and acting on them. The article Hannu posted is not sufficient enough to justify making such a significant and nasty claim.

              Words have meaning and consequences.

Far right = thick, inbred bastards who hate anyone who isn’t a straight, white male born in their country.

Far left = thick, inbred bastards who hate anyone who doesn’t agree with their opposing opinions of the straight, white males born in their country.

Then somewhere in the middle you have 99% of us, who believe everyone on the planet should be treated the same and deserve the same chances in life. And are sound as fuck.

-si- i agree, except that it’s less than 99% of us in the middle, probably closer to 60% if the internet is any indication. maybe the stupid are just louder, i don’t know.

Just to be clear, I’m not having a go at Hannu.

He’s as entitled to his opinion as anyone else.

Homegrove ..see my post above. I’m not convinced she’s transphobic (not sure I entirely agree with her either), but now she’s expressed her opinion, people are desperate to ‘cancel’ her, and won’t listen to the nuances of what she’s saying or debate the topic in any rational way.

hugopal people are throwing around what are serious allegations as casually and mindlessly as a batty woman chucking bits of stale bread to pigeons

Seems as good an opportunity as any to get some Mary Poppins in

Over the years I’ve found the best way to mange my prejudices is to hate absolutely everyone equally.

-si- And yet we have absolute mental cases whose ability to present cold, hard facts come in the form of sharing tweets,

And people who aren’t so mental but still rely on Twitter for their ‘news’.

                      Have a read of this

                      https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/one-third-uk-may-not-get-coronavirus-vaccine-one-developed-new/

And note the correlation of those suspicious of a vaccine with where they get their news from.

Highlights, for me, the danger of Social Media.

Folks blindly posting unverified shite from Twitter and representing them as fact really grinds my gears.

Old-Dutch Over the years I’ve found the best way to mange my prejudices

Did you mean Manage or Minge Dutchy?

                      hugopal

                      Not surprised.

Also portrays a ‘normal’ family, therefore homophobic.
Probably misogynistic too, as the father makes a lot of decisions, utilising his white male privilege to the max.
And as for Mary, why doesn’t a man get the job?

How the thing got released is baffling

Mad_Cyril nothing says “scandalous white male privilege” more than being a chimney sweep.

Oh for fuck’s sake the article I posted has proof that her opions are based on nothing. There is no proof of anything that worries her. Yet she feels the need to use her powerful platform to rail against vulnerable people. And with a 12 million twitter following claim she’s being silenced.

Trans women of colour have a life expectancy of about 35 years because so many of them kill themselves, or else get killed by bigots. Can’t imagine the statistic is that much better for other trans people. Thinking a man says he’s trans just to get into women’s bathrooms is transphobic bullshit.

hugopal In what way is she “transphobic”?

Apparently, in the Harry Potter books (I didn’t read them myself because I’m not a knob head) most of the Trannys got turned into frogs or killed very early on. Zero character development. Also, there were footnotes for which characters menstruated and which didn’t, there was even a table in the appendix to that effect.

Most of this was glossed over in the films.

Must admit all the uproar about blackface in entertainment from the 20s onwards etc seem a bit misdirected - you’re really going to cancel Gone With The Wind? lol.

Did they go after all the Othello movies from back in the day as well?

Emotive stuff rom Michael Holding, especially just before the 5 minute mark.

4 real. Not some bandwagon jumper
