Give him credit for being honest about dealing and being a druggy but kinda gives you a glimpse into how stupid and talentless the whole thing was back then. Now it’s producer then a dj way it should be. Check Lawler’s discogs didn’t produce a bloody thing typical 90s con man.

Dry-Tinder Always thought he was technically brilliant (like Zabiela) but he played some absolutely dross. Not even his VDJ set up could save him.

*Millsy shuffles into the thread like Chief Wiggum to hamfistedly deal with an already banned Flares one day after everyone else noticed him.

I halved a banger with Sander in that club with the egg shaped dj booth in Dublin (the name of the club escapes me, closed now) and subsequently dropped a load of his cd’s out of his wallet, on to the ground 20 mins later whilst leafing through them.
Never said a word to me about it, Top bloke imo.

    Serious bangers to be fair

Funky Now it’s producer then a dj way it should be

Think I’ve heard way more talented DJs that became producers after and heard some really shocking DJs that were producers first. 🤷

Juan Atkins the Pioneer of techno, but can’t mix a vodka & orange.

Reckon I must be a double double-boss producer then!

Tom Stephan was mentioned as a blast from the past the other day, he was another great producer for a while but an absolute dogshit dj.

BlainSA Name one, they all got help from ghost producers no way did any of them have the time and dedication to sit in a studio for endless hours to learn properly. It takes years to sound professional.

These djs from that era where doing 5 gigs a week flat out on drink n coke, the brain fog must of been immense. Sasha would off been no where without May.

Guy J did both pretty sure from starting out, Jody Wisernoff was the brains behind way out west he knows his stuff. Derrick May another but so many faked there way to the top in the 90s and it gave our music a bad name.

Therein lies Lawler’s beef with Holden. Probably thought at that time he hadn’t paid his dues. Fucking talent gap as wide as the Mersey tunnel 🤣

            • Dan replied to this.

alistair The feedback from my mate was that Holden was obviously highly intelligent but looked really awkward poolside in Miami 🤣

              Think Will from the inbetweeners.

Also Holden used to moan that the scene was full of old Producers/DJ’s in their 40’s. He’s 43 and still going?

Dan He’s always been a musician first (when did he last DJ?) and in my humble opinion, his latest album is a career highlight. Outgrew the confines of “the scene” early on. Lawler’s merely a DJ that had his day
