      Along_the_Wire Can you explain to me why this WAPO endorsement or lack thereof has created such a shit storm? I get the reasons why Bezos might support this ‘neutral’ stance (Trump odds on to win etc), but why is it so important to the readers that the paper takes a position? Is it the perception of external influence/control or spinelessness? I personally wouldn’t bat an eyelid if the NYT didn’t officially support Harris, even though the editorial board clearly do.

          Wasily it’s a left leaning title, people subscribe to it mostly for that reason. It’s obvious that Bezos is covering his ass on it in case Trump comes through. Don’t buy the WAPO in the first place if this is a concern. It’s been a bit shit for a couple of years now, so this is just confirmation as to why.

              I had this in mind when I asked the question. My thinking was the Guardian is so left leaning that not making a position statement wouldn’t surprise me in the least given their coverage- making an actual statement of ‘neutrality’ would undermine the credibility of their writers, but unlike the Guardian who are not regulated like WAPO is, this seems more damning for Bezos. Not sure I’d cancel my digi on these grounds though if I genuinely enjoyed the articles. Have a safe trip x

                  I’ve read the Post for years - initially just used it for NFL news, but got drawn in - they won’t have many Republican readers that’s for sure - the comments sections are very solidly behind the Democrats - Bezos has really fucked up here and is obviously shitting himself about repercussions should Trump get voted in. Gutless.

                    I see Rogan and his band of least intelligent humans, utter moron Brendan Schaub and terminal wally Eddie Bravo, are all in on Trump.
                    That circle of friends that includes Lex Friedman and of course Musk stand to gain from Trump winning. Sell out cunts. Its amazing to me how January 6th is swept under the carpet. Knobheads yes, but I always thought they had some modicum of sense when it came to right and wrong.
                    Buzz Aldrin also throwing his hat onto Trump like the griseled old coot he is. These fucks are not American. They’re just Capitalists. Theres no other reason for supporting Trump, unless they too are all part of the global pedo farm. Stranger things have happened.

                              LT42 I don’t know enough about it, but I reckon a lot of the Tesla investigations will be driven by his competition. Delighted if the SpaceX stuff is brought to a halt though.

                                Musk said a few weeks ago that if Trump loses he’s basically fucked and looking at prison time. He’s now been asked to attend court for giving $1m to voters.

                                He needs knocking down a peg or two to be honest.
