The COVID-19 Blues

I’ve made some Hibiscus vodka, learned how to make dill pickles, learned how to make some jewelry, got my PS2 back out and played some old games, rearranged my “office” corner of my living room, read some new and old books, researched lots of vacation destinations and “planned” some trips (or I’ve got the details I’d want for when I can actually visit some of these places), and other than that, living room rave-ups have been my quarantine projects.
Tried to master making my own bread. Have given up. It’s not worth the stress..
Read a shit load of books. About 50 in the last 6 months.
Bought an espresso machine and grinder and been getting into my home made coffee.
And drinking. Lots of drinking
Working a ton and posting low hanging fruit threads on here.
Put on a stone and learned how to live stream. Literally, thats it!
Feel like I’ve mastered breakfast, though maybe my French Toast could do with some work. Scrambled eggs are second to none without a doubt.
Got some decent pasta dishes under my belt. Need to figure out some wholesome Indian food now - dal, a couple of vegetable dishes and a chicken curry.
Moved out of my parent’s house after about a decade and 5 years of marriage. Can’t get over the fact that I have my own living room and kitchen now.
Happy with my progress with Mario Kart too. Bagged some of the gold gear, including the gold cart. Also putting in a bit of time on the greens with PGA Tour 2K21.
Love the fact you started off with Breakfast first & foremost, with moving out of Papas mansion with your wife 3rd on the list!
That sounds cracking! Would love a bottle. Not trying to blag, but I’m generally curious what it’s called and if it’s available here?

Oh Rhouses. Never change!
The trick to French toast…. Vanilla. Add it. Also, try buttermilk instead of milk with the eggs and always use white bread - preferably something like French or Italian bread.
wrongun lol. You’re right, moving out of Papa’s mansion should come in at #1.
Kells77 Ooooh. I’ve really started appreciating paneer over the last couple of years, so much easier on the tummy than meat dishes. Will search out a good recipe and let you know. I’ll know what to cook (or order in) if you ever visit India!
loopdokter I’m having trouble with the custard ratios between the milk and egg I think. Do add vanilla and touch of bourban… will try buttermilk next time. Attempted it with a semi stale baguette and it was a massive fail. Thick white bread has been ok.
loopdokter It’s kitchen moonshine, mate, lol
