Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001). I recently bought the 4K restauration released by Studio Canal, and it was money well spent. A very heightened retelling of the Beast of Gevaudan, this French cult classic is set in 18th century rural France where everyone knows martial arts, Mark Dacascos in brown face playing a Native American who fights like he’s in Hard Boiled, and a match cut from Monica Bellucci’s breasts into two snowy mountains. You know, CINEMA.
