C_J It’s definitely one of those that’s worth a second look
Rate The Last Movie you Watched
Both films are superb imo. The ‘I drink your milkshake’ scene in TWBB is incredible.
303abuser Forgot Misery. Think that is a good film and book combo
How would you all rank King adaptations?
I’d go:
- Stand By Me
- The Shining (even if he hated it)
- The Shawshank Redemption
- The Dead Zone
- I dunno…Misery maybe; I always got a kick out of Cujo even if it’s not great; liked both of the recent It’s but that might be a nostalgia thing
Shawshank Redemption
The Shining (best taken as “inspired by” the book, rather than a straight adaptation)
Stand By Me
The Mist
The Green Mile
In order:
- Shawshank Redemption
- Misery
- The Mist
- The Shining
- The Green Mile
stand by me is my favorite, the shining, shawshank, and greenmile are really good, followed by misery.
i’m not sure you guys watched the same ‘mist’ as i did, thought it was awful.
The Mist was unwatchable
The end was amazing.
Homegrove I always think that when I watch an awful film.
I liked it otherwise too mind.
Much like the walking dead, the beauty about the mist is discovering it’s not the scary monsters that are the villains, it’s actually the prickish people who are the evil ones. Tons of great tension and the father son relationship is quite endearing.
I get it though, packing up a bunch of yanks in a supermarket while Armageddon is taking place outside as a premise is a tough sell.
Spies Like Us. Classic. Lost it at “doctor, doctor, doctor, doctor.”
Watched The Counsellor 8/10 really enjoyed it.
Killing Them Softly also enjoyed it 7/10
Killing them Softly was about as subtle as a hammer to the head with it’s allegory. Great acting all around in it though.
Watched Riders of the Lost Ark again. Always enjoyable when viewed every few years.
Killing Them Softly is a cracking film, loved it.
i can’t say i remember killing them softly, don’t think i loved it though. maybe i’ll take another crack at it.
