With the Finns under lockdown, church attendance has dropped to alarmingly low levels.

On the other hand, no-one is burning them down so…

Also the churchburners were in Norway.

Just one person in ICU because of Covid19 in Finland.

Smallman1 Since when has accuracy or repetitiveness ever stopped me slagging you off Smalls?

Finland: same rules apply

hugopal Partly, but those states above have pretty much fully opened up and no one is following any of the guidelines.

Homegrove makes those of us in countries where it’s not as big a problem look pretty fortunate.

There has been more testing in the US so that’s partly responsible… but what doesn’t lie is the increase in hospital admissions. Trump you bellend.

Homegrove

Having now been back to work for a week or so, in San Francisco, testing is a huge part of the rise. And we’re not that worried as long as hospitalizations remain steady. We also know of some duplication being reported to the State. We report by County. San Francisco, geographically, is a very, very small county (it’s the only City & County in the State). What ends up happening is we’ll have a testing event at a skilled nursing facility. Some residents will test positive, but it’s mostly staff. Said staff work in San Francisco, but cannot afford to live in San Francisco, so they’ll live in a surrounding county. We’ll report it as an SF case, given where the transmission likely occurred and where the testing happened, but San Mateo County will also report it as the person resides there. It’s a complicated jurisdictional issue. Deaths have been at 45 for a while now, hospitalizations have been minimal - so we’re basically like, whatever. State and National numbers are one thing, but we’re good over here.

Oh yeah, forgot you had it. All good now?

jonattonyeah was quite surprised California was having a blow up in cases (aside form the issues you talk about) - thought they had a really strict lockdown?

jonattonyeah Contact tracing is virtually non-existent though, right? And all the States that opened early are looking at steep infection rates versus those that haven’t opened yet seeing a decrease in rates. All the countries who’ve reopened for business - Japan, New Zealand, Australia, France, Germany, Greece - have all banned US travelers from coming. Trump holding an indoor rally this weekend despite the expert medical advice. I mean, could he and his admin do one thing right? Just one? Fuckin abhorrent.

For the “Greatest Country on Earth” its not a good look.

Am having to watch Royal Ascot on tv instead of being there.

        Another devastating loss to Covid-19.
