It was a joke Nass.
Digital age the ‘know your tunes’ logic doesn’t hold up due to weight of libraries.
We all buy too much shite, wood for trees etc…

I have some freaks of nature friends who can seem to genuinely remember all the names.. their brains are machines!

Take their Ritalin off them and see how they fare!
Mad_Cyril I think you mean NZT-48
…DJ software should be so much better, It feels like such a barrier to getting music in a state to play it

Wow ty for reply very comprehensive. I am a hobbyist electronic music enthusiast.
But I wanted some more features., i.e longer pitch fader , no gimmicks, a master volume meter, as well as decent volume level. The controllers you mentioned in the pio lineup sound great, but off budget for me.
My next thought was to leave the pio ecosystem altogether and buy a Traktor S3 as it has what I want for a price within my budget. Do you know anything about the quality of that. Thanks.
Theconsole All I can tell you about Traktor S3 mk4 is that I know 2 people who have them and love them. When I’ve seen them they looked good build quality.
To quote someone on reddit that may help:
"The effects etc are all really well done on this unit, as are the little displays. I have quite a high end setup (Xone 96, FX units etc) but I absolutely love using my mates S4 MK3.
The quality is there and it covers all your requirements."

Ha Ha yes ty. Traktor here i come.
I have acquired so much stuff over the years and have the NI S3 and RX3 . Both great bits of kit . I still think Traktor is the best DJ software out there vs RB/Serato etc. Thing is the whole industry is geared up for RB/ Pioneer so at some point in time you are going to have to get up to speed on that gear . That’s where the RX3 comes in .
It’s by no means an AZ , but as you can get one now brand new for around £1500 is the AZ twice as good ? No, IMO . The RX 3 is stand alone , can add externals and can be used as a RB controller if you still want to use a laptop . Put it this way…going from a RX3 to CDJ3000s and 900NXS2 is easy if ever you play out . It ticks so many boxes .

Thanks will consider it.
Yeah, the NI dilemma , it’s better than other software you mentioned , however everything is pioneer.
To be honest, I’ve never had a problem with RB
I managed to try out a small selection of DJ controllers on Saturday, I am glad I did.
Numark Mixstream Pro - not really for me, can see some benefits but found it a bit clunky and not that responsive when laoding tracks up etc
I am going back tomorrow as the owner is bringing in a used Pioneer controller for me to check out (can’t now remember the model name!) - so we’ll see how that goes. The owner seems amenable - not pushing me into a sale at all and is trying to help me narrow down what works for me.
He did make a comment that made me chuckle - there was a large Denon controller there which I looked at and he said ’They don’t have the greatest reputation to be honest’. Do you want his phone number @Mad_Cyril ???!!

You weren’t in my shop were you? Are you the guy who said the rotary mixer on display looked like it should be sold in Early Learning Centre?
ScottBailey no this was in sunny/grotty Luton Scott!

Fair enough, just sounded like something I would’ve said….
Theconsole Ha Ha yes ty. Traktor here i come.
I have the latest S4 - which is an absolutely fine home use solution. It’s great fun, with easy access to remix and stem decks - which now on Traktor pro 4 can be created from the software (and subsequently deconstructed for production use).
Just checked the price and it’s around £1k now, which is bonkers. I bought it new at around £500, which admittedly used a 25% off code - but that’s an uptick of around 25% since it came out.
NasserAlazzawi I’ve been using the XDJ-RX3 quite a bit lately and it’s a great piece of kit which can be used with turntables. Rekordbox isn’t too shabby nowdays.
