Heno no I’m saving for xdj 700’s just bought the ddj to listen to tracks from my phone and mucking about on, had it on out my mates back garden last Sunday was good fun

Just out of interest, why would you get separates and not and all-in-one like the RX2 or the XZ?

    Dubman
Traktor sw is fine, but Rekordbox has more features that suit my needs, mostly around making it easier to pair tracks whilst learning to mix.

      Dubman
      Traktor does key too.

Rekordbox allows you to link tracks you think go well together.

That process in Traktor is manual, based on add notes, remembering what you tagged as etc…

There’s a puppy of other features that Matt explains better above.

And I’m also i terested in this oud thingy making me more mobile than listening to tunes on a laptop

Fair enough mate. I’ve never used rekordbox so if can’t compare the two.

        Dubman
Hopefully. Only looking for a bit of extra help to learn, don’t want to rely on it to piece sets together if that makes sense?

If Im still shit there’s always ambient 😁

        You use the Traktor then?

I used to but stopped straight after I bought an S2 as it done my back in leaning over to use it. To be honest you’ve just got to know your tunes then you’ll soon know what goes with what. I’ve been using vinyl the last few weeks & I think I prefer it now.

Along_the_Wire Just out of interest, why would you get separates and not and all-in-one like the RX2 or the XZ?

Usually they want a better mixer in between the decks?

Along_the_Wire exactly! Have a xone 92 and love it and now want to move to rotary never was mad about pioneer mixers

Traktor S3 price has been lowered to about 450 € if any of you want to upgrade your old S2s.

Anyone any recomendations for a VERY small monitor? I want something for a live stream setup outside, so doesn’t have to be loud just decent audio quality. I was thinking of something like an Amazon Echo, but I hear they have a nasty aux in delay. I cant be bothered taking my studio monitors outside and setup so want something ultra portable

…little video test today. Light was failing so picture grainy and was getting loads of vibration through the tripod, so will probably have another go tomorrow, but a couple of folk wanted to see the mixer in action so here it is, warts-and-all!:

            The setup looks class, Damien.

Fuck me, that second tune is mint.

I literally have no idea what you’re doing or how you’re doing it Damo. You don’t seem to have nailed the same levels of panic I get, so you need to work a little on that.

Homegrove …tell me about it, the desk wasn’t designed for this, and I need to be super-careful with my back since an injury 18-months ago. Raising the mixer a couple of inches would improve it drastically, although to be honest, I want to clear the desk for production/editing duties, so thinking about a separate console of some sort.

            Cheers Matt 😉

Grant: …still feel like I’m getting used to the mixer, a glass of vino deffo helps!
