  • Pilton...I mean Glasto' Festival

Gutted not to be there this year. Not been since 2017, and got massive FOMO..:

Along_the_Wire Oh mate, that’s fucking shite. Hope ya feel better soon.

ScottBailey Yeah, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the middle class Waitrose festival that Glasto has become is more beneficial for it’s neighbours than festivals like Leeds / Reading, where the active annual sport is setting your mates tent on fire.

Smallman1 I shan’t be missing Herbie Hancock, Diana Ross (hello sailor) Leon Bridges, Bonobo, Overmono, The Chems and Bicep though

Or the long drops!

Along_the_Wire Sheeeeet - that is pants.
I had the Vid last week. Felt ropey on the Sunday night (but that down to boozy weekend). Had exactly the same symptoms develop the next day - the raging sore throat being the worst as was a nightmare to sleep. Felt shite for about ⅔ days but was back in the game by the Friday and produced a neg test at the end of that day. Lot quicker recovery than when I had it November which took about 2 weeks.

Hope its the same and you’re able to get down there
Like Vin have been developing a bit of FOMO through the week

I ain’t going to Glastonbury for no working class politics lectures.

I’m there to kitchen sink it!

Glasto is an event ive always shuddered at, given the sheer investment of emotion/commitment right from the booking process, to the travel and then to the sheer size of the event. I also cant bare to drink warm beer in a piss den for 3 days.

It all seems like such a palava.

seanc80 If you buy into it all too much you can defo over think it. Easy enough to do it in your own way, find your own thing though.

seanc80 Most people are going for the vibe though, bar Ed, it’s basically cunt free.

Bollocks - sorry to hear that Granto! What a shitter

wrongun Hope so. The missus was going down til Friday late afternoon anyway, so got a bit of time. Cancelled transport for tomorrow because that ain’t happening from here

Amps Would you not be better off finding a nice bar and have a few pints and a chat?

        • Amps replied to this.

Same could be said for any holiday anywhere, not exactly novel sitting in a pub. Plenty of places to sit off and talk absolute bollocks for hours if you want to at Glasto.

It’s as good a festival as you will ever go to and the music, assuming you swerve the main stage shite, is boss.

seanc80 Was a bit dubious before I’d been. Done a bunch of other festivals around the UK, and just really didn’t get the fuss about Glastonbury. Happy to acknowledge I was being a narrow-minded fuckwit. There’s nowhere else on the planet I’ve enjoyed a party more than at Glastonbury.

Agree with others - trying to march around the site to see specific bands or artists can be a right pain in the bollocks. Most of the best days/nights I’ve had there have been the ones where we just set off with no particular place to be…

seanc80 It can be a colossal effort however if the sun is shining it is well well worth it, once you’re in and set up its just a 5 day long party with 200 000 other like minded folk
