BlainSA alistair Don’t think they could get away with that now. Same with Lexicon Avenue and Midnight on West 27th
hugopal BlainSA Starecase with an underrated take on it too Yeah funnily enough I’ve been listening to that this morning.
Old-Dutch Saw Danny Howell finish a gig at the Electrowerks with the Starecase mix of Under the Water. Was Red Jerry’s night in about 2001. Scones
vinnyt77 Old-Dutch I was at that! Went to a bunch of Elements nights… Did ya catch Shem play there with a broken arm?!?
hugopal Dan I can remember them doing some review in DJ Mag slating the Breeder mix. Who is the “them” you refer to?
hugopal Dan Cheers Nick. But why would they be slagging off a remix which they released on their own label in a national magazine?!
Dan hugopal I’ve no idea it was on their label. Maybe it was initially signed to another label? I’m not trawling through Discogs.

The Breeder remix and dub were initially released on Acetate and then on FFRR in the UK and Europe, also in 1999. But soon after those Yoshitoshi put out a CD single of the track which did have the Breeder remix on. Then in 2000 Yoshitoshi put out a ‘Remixes’ 2×12 which had both the Breeder remix and dub. https://www.discogs.com/release/84766-Brother-Brown-Featuring-Frankee-Under-The-Water https://www.discogs.com/release/29708-Brother-Brown-Featuring-Frankee-Under-The-Water-Remixes Very odd behaviour if they’d publicly slagged it off not long beforehand.
jonattonyeah bosstrabs Hot take. Half you retards loved “Breezer” before it came out. “Ohhhhhh coooorrrrreee is The Man Like playing Envelope Packet!?!?!?!?!?!? MENTAL! I want to kiss him on the lips” EDIT yeah I kinda did to.
Homegrove jonattonyeah Breezer was on Toronto, not Moscow. 🤓 First CD of Toronto is actually decent, the second one is shocking. Dug out the Afterparty-mixes lately, and they’re actually great. Even Sharam’s.
