Cankles-McJeggings FelchAid So you don’t think that in the picture I posted is it? I know some of these maps are dated. It’s just off Curzon st which is the front of this building. I seem to recall parking in the multi then walking down internal stairs to the front of the club which I thought was on the side street off Curzon. I thought I’d heard it was knocked down but wasn’t sure. We’d have crossed paths for sure. I went the ossia, digweed, Sasha and oaky nights there in those years. Weirdly I’ve still got a bottle of water from the Sasha night 😆 Also got pictures from the diggers night in the carpark after. Was mental as in the club out there.
LT42 Always wondered what Venue44 was like? Industrial or swanky, the soundsystem. I watched BPM every weekend or at least recorded it, I’m sure they must’ve been to a Renaissance night although I can’t recall.
Cankles-McJeggings Don’t think it was ever on bpm. The Edge did an interview with him in the back room once and there was a vid of that knocking around. The system wasn’t subtle it was just booming and quite crass sounding, wouldn’t describe it as technical. The room was an old hall and it made the bass boom. When you walked up the stairs and opened the doors to the main dancefloor it was like being oofed in the face. If you were on the stage along side or below the main speakers it was clearer sounding. Infront of them was just biiiiiiig. Remember having to take breaks downstairs in the chill out to give your head a rest.
Cankles-McJeggings This was posted a while back on renaissance FB. The DJ box or pulpit as it was known was up high on the left the support beam is still there. Next to that was the stage. Opposite end on the left was the bar and the double doors next to it were to 2 flights of stairs to the bogs then chillout room. The doors on the wall to the left opposite the windows were fire exits with like a little roof. You could stand on them and could spend whole nights up there. All the speakers were at the stage end higher up. Reckon the roof arch shape was probably why the bass boomed so much. Its odd though because I don’t actually recall it being arched !
Millsy Cankles-McJeggings got a bit ‘thread confused’ and thought this was a vid of the inside of Ed’s flat.
LT42 Cankles-McJeggings Looked like a good space. Its sad seeing old iconic clubs in their skeletal state or when they get knocked.
bosstrabs vinnyt77 Anyone else heard about The Cross reopening?! The Cross was always my favourite London venue, the crowd were always superb. Saw Futureshock absolutely bang the shit out of it there a couple of times, magnificent.
