        Had the misfortune of going to a Freedom @ Bagley’s night. Not my idea. Wandered into the UKG room and it was mostly birds dancing. Most guys were in the corners looking over their shoulders scowling and sucking their teeth at each other whilst occasionally bending their knee to the snare.

Dance music has always been poppy, rnb influenced, commercial hedonistic gear, right from the 70s onwards, you just attach a weird attitude of authenticity for functional music which cannot ever truly offer the subcultural credibility and validation you so crave.
