People on here - with comments like the above - are acting as if the allies shouldn’t have bombed Germany and marched on Berlin, and instead tried to broker a ceasefire, because not every German civilian would have voted for the Nazis in 1933 (before they also then turned their country in to a totalitarian, one party, single ethnicity state which invaded its neighbouring country and wished for the extermination of all Jews).

Hamas had the most votes of any party at 44%, with what you say to be 38% of the possible people who could have voted.

Funnily enough, in 1933 the Nazis also won the election with 44% of the vote, and that represented 38.6% of the potential voting population.

So following your supposed reasoning - and as per my comment above - should the allies have then tried to negotiate a ceasefire with the Nazis, and not have bombed them or marched on Berlin, because not everyone had voted for the regime?

hugopal Palestinians’ are getting pummelled - 62% of them didn’t vote for Hamas in the last election which was over 17 years ago. Tens of thousand of innocent people are being killed.

This situation in the Middle East isn’t remotely comparable to the Nazi’s in the Second World War - quite an embarrassing comparison that.

There is no solution to be gained with the current strategy - Israel will not wipe out Hamas and vice versa, all Israel are doing is ensuring that there will be an even more aggressive version of Hamas emerging within a generation and it will be worse. Maybe if Israel helped Palestinians and lift them out of abject poverty and didn’t push its borders, they wouldn’t turn to Hamas

zackster err… Hamas’ stated aim is to wipe out Israel, and they would if they could. They also kicked things off by invading the bordering country and committing mass murder of their own.

Within their own borders they were also the ones who as with the Nazis killed their political opponents and ceased elections. They are also the ones who as a matter of policy persecute, jail, torture and kill homosexuals.
