…deffo a very capable producer, his mixes haven’t interested me for the last few years though

According to Chris Scott, of Lexicon Avenue, Voorn was behind a lot of Kleinenberg’s early work…

Echo I’ve always wondered where those tunes came from. He clearly didn’t make them based on the 180 he suddenly did musically.

Hope it’s better than Baumel’s snooze fest. Fuck me that was dull.

Sasha dropping Sacred on GU13 still sends shivers down my spine.

      Proper tops off.

Anyone remember the Secret on Cocoon I think? Top Joris track

My Lexicon is an absolute hall of famer. If Voorn had a hand in that as well then he’s my man 😆

jonattonyeah Penis out for me, Ed.

          One of the great transitions.

And IIRC Dutchy was there to see it live.

          Lucky bastard.

            Smallman1

Heard Sasha drop that a few times in the days - roof always lifted.

Smallman1 the mix from space manoeuvres into sacred on gu013 was always one of my favorites. never got to see sacred live unfortunately.

              Echo

My understanding was that he wanted more birds in the crowd so he adjusted his sound accordingly. But then he made “The Fruit” which to me says he wasn’t trying making music for anyone at all.

Me too, it’s the venn diagram equivalent of a brilliant mix of two superb tracks which results into a moment of jaw dropping stupendousness.

This is Dom Phillips signing out.

Sure I have mentioned this before… maybe a year after the Four Seasons EP came out he played the courtyard at Cream, a two hour set, the whole thing was acetates from Heathmans, all his own tracks, stuff he said he was road testing. I remember it being brilliant prog, place went off… not a clue if any of it ever made it out as a release.

                zackster

Interesting take. Kleinenberg was billed as the “New Sasha” when he hit the scene. Destined for greatness. I remember him and Sasha went back to back at Gatecrasher, that was a fun night.

Always though it was weird how his style completely changed.

                  alistair

Yup. This was just before the death of the “super club” when everyone was losing their bananas.

zackster yet another court ordered piece of shit

                  Laughed heartily at this 🤣

mono-stereo Kleinenberg was billed as the “New Sasha”

I remember when Mixmag did a double page spread on Marc Vedo, claiming he was the new Sasha. He must’ve taken a nose dive after that article.

mono-stereo oh yeah. I was a huge fan. He was a resident at Arc in Manhattan. Club was so old that they could do 18+ so I was able to get in. Awesome nights all in all. One thing that always struck me was that in all of his interviews he NEVER talked about making music. Seemed odd for a guy who became known because of his productions. He finally addressed it in some mag and said “errr I am a tuff critic of my music, and I never think people want to hear it.” Like wtf??? Super suspect, and I 100% believe someone else coproduced his four seasons shit, if not just straight up made it for him.

I thought everyone knew Ricky Ryan was the next Sasha.

strummer Let’s be honest, Sasha lent him some cred back in 99 by showcasing two very good tunes on GU. That’s it folks. His was a momentary flicker.

Little Mountain released some good stuff. Matt Dekay. Porter’s “Definite Form”. I guess that was it now that I think about it. Put out a couple of decent mix CDs as well. Saw him at Cream Boxing Day in what must’ve been 2000 where he played Pascal FEOS’ mix of “Dooms Night”. Place went bananas. Fun night.

Saw Sander a few times at The MOS and was always fun tbf.

Smallman1 play EDM shite on the aptly named “deepest mixtape in the universe”

October 30th - according to the link in the first post in the thread.

zackster Well whoever remixed this for him did a bloody good job!
