Amps lol. All joking aside, 00-04 he was playing fire techno. Saw him several times at Avalon/Limelight and he dropped the hammer every single time.

Amps Was this in Cream? Think I was there

They went through a weird phase of booking people like Picotto when the crowds were thinning out early 2000s

zackster I saw him in Miami in 2003 and had to leave. It was ear bleeding techno.

bosstrabs Yeah, I reckon maybe 2004? Probably his only appearance around that time, he was never a regular.

The Gatecrasher crowd used to love his long sets.

bosstrabs I assume it was a bit more prog in the other rooms? He was on in the Courtyard.

zackster I remember it being pretty dull. Not how I like my techno. He sort of played techno like you would play prog. I’ll take Mills / May / Hood / Clark / Garnier etc. over his style.

LT42 except basically no one is dying from it any more. They talk about cases but conveniently don’t mention the limited to zero deaths or people in intensive care.

It seems some people are for whatever reason desperate to over-exaggerate the situation and for lockdown to remain as severe as possible.

Amps I remember it being pretty dull. Not how I like my techno.

You could possibly argue he was like a cheesy Carola, as Ive seen him play in a similar way on occasion.

Amps in reality Mauro has no style. He has gone from trance to techno to tech house throughout his career. Richardo Ferarri made all his tunes, and he doesn’t seem to be able to get gigs outside of Ireland and Italy. He’s kinda like the Italian Seb Fontaine. They certainly seems to play the same kinda gigs these days.

Kells77 oh if this wasn’t a joke, then yes of course. Some amalgamation of Rob Hood, Moritz Von Oswald, Jeff Mills, Luke Slater, Josh Wink and Speedy J. Those are the dudes that have kept me interested the longest.

Amps Pretty sure this was around 2002 I saw him.

Annexe was Yousef, spent most of the time there, was packed. Main room was Picotto and some pitched up trance shite like Jon O’Bir, empty-ish. Courtyard closed. May be wrong though, the mind plays tricks with time.

They seemed to have a really weird booking policy when the superclubs were dying, Yousef could pull a decent crowd but they copied the banging shite on at GodsKitchen and Gatecrasher for a while.

zackster More is actual style of playing than his choice of music. Just sort of monotonous.

zackster Not a joke. Hood is actually great. And I really love Josh Wink too. The rest of your choices….not my cuppa.

Amps Yeah, it was so shit around that time I distinctly remember flyer girls in Baa Bar and similar places basically begging people to go, saying “it’s twelve quid to get in but ten with this flyer”. They couldn’t keep it going every week could they?

Do you mean in general or somewhere specific? There’s been 4427 deaths in the last 24hrs. It’s still far from under control and plague raves (lol) are a little provocative to say the least.
