Amps Yeah, it was so shit around that time I distinctly remember flyer girls in Baa Bar and similar places basically begging people to go, saying “it’s twelve quid to get in but ten with this flyer”. They couldn’t keep it going every week could they?

hugopal They talk about cases but conveniently don’t mention the limited to zero deaths or people in intensive care.

Do you mean in general or somewhere specific? There’s been 4427 deaths in the last 24hrs. It’s still far from under control and plague raves (lol) are a little provocative to say the least.

bosstrabs Early 2000s was still pretty good, iirc it was 2005 ish onward that it really started to fall off, but I could be wrong.

Amps Maybe I’ve got the dates wrong, could be a few years on to be honest.

Remember it being great from around 1997-2002 and then everybody just kind of couldn’t be arsed.

People got into the Zutons and started hanging around Korova OR fancying something less obviously superclub like Lemon Lounge. Maybe that was just my mates. And maybe my years are a bit off.

Yeah, Korova didn’t open until 2005 and then really kicked off in 2006. I worked above it for a bit and my mate was the bar manager, a great laugh and yeah, very much at the front of the change in Liverpool at the time.

Amps Around that time I distinctly remember pulling an absolute stunner from Greasby in Concert Square on a night out, properly bossing it in my Diesel gear, and then getting binned off because her mates told her “what’ve you pulled him for? He’s a bad wool”

        Concert Square… enough said.

I was crushed. Even though I was head to toe in the latest Diesel gear, looking like some kind of suave Scandinavian European fashionista, the accent betrayed me.

The Warringtonian doesn’t fear death, doesn’t fear God, doesn’t fear the law, or anything except being on a night out in Libpool and someone saying “maehrt, are you from Widnes? Or another place full of bad wools”

            Does Manchester have equivalent slander?

Amps Yes, “fuck off back to scouseland you bin-dipping cunt”. To be scorned by both is the eternal burden of the Warringtonian.

(And we’re not even wools, wire-pulling was our industry)
