I bought an ddj 200 for €150 to the door while I’m saving bigger stuff 2 weeks ago and it’s a great little thing for listening to tracks straight from my phone we had it out the back Sunday afternoon and it was grand, showed it to one of my mates and it was like I showed him fire for the first time

Plus I want to move towards recordbox from tracktor

mono-stereo Reloop Mixtour. You need to map it to Rekordbox, but don’t be put off by that, it’s a doddle - even Strudders could’ve done it. Probably. It’s PnP with iOS

I’d pay damn good money to watch Damo modulate his flanger.

Along_the_Wire ….afraid not, let mine go a while back when I moved-on from Traktor. Although hearing that you’ve had success using one with Rekordbox, I’d be tempted to get another for a laugh

mono-stereo …not really better or worse mate, software is solid on both, I’d just had enough of staring at a laptop screen when I was mixing… (which is of course what you’d be doing if you used Rekordbox with a controller, but at least going that route gives you the flexibility to use a USB stick when you get on ‘proper’ decks)

Nice one. I’m kind of already “in” the NI eco system so the NI Z1 traktor controller was appealing, until i watched a review saying you can’t fire off cue points or browse for tracks using it. Seems like a buzz kill having to move back to the laptop to do those things.

So yeah, might buy this toy and give Rekordbox a whirl. 🍻

…or just get the X1/Z1 combo? still not massively expensive and would feel less like starting again if you are broadly happy with using Traktor

Anyone recommend a good place (UK) to buy an ‘off the shelf’ PC? Other than PC world or the like? My work horse is over 15 years old and has recently started to make funny noises.

Unbroken1 Yeah could do that, not sure about having two boxes though, idea is to use this while i’m loafing about on the sofa.

mono-stereo …they are pretty compact mate and should be fine for that. The X1 is a good bit of kit, used them for a while

Yup. Unless you’re handy with a screw driver and fancy building your own ( i did recently for a beefy PC to play VR on). This site picks all the bits that are compatible for the best price: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/

Half the price of going off the shelf, but if you can’t be arsed just buy a Dell. Most off the shelf manufacturers use the same components anyway.

Yeah the X1 is solid. X1/Z1 combo is perfect for basic Traktor shenanigans. Lots of maps out there too if you want to do something different with them.
