Mad_Cyril fucking hell, the price alone is ridiculous. Even a decent journey with no delays, good wifi and a free drink and nuts shouldn’t cost that

At least you didn’t have to put up with listening to that god awful @ScottBailey mix, so I suppose that was a bonus 😉

You can travel first class around Europe for a month on interrail for €663 going basically any country/main city you fancy. Our prices are just beyond explanation.

    Millsy beyond explanation.

Privatisation and the cult of capitalism?

      Onboard team have GREAT ASSES

Not winning, but not losing either

A return flight same day is approx £380, mate. Fuck the train! £550 notes, get into the fucking sea with that palaver!

Not coming from my trouser mate.

Still take that over T3 MAN and T5 LHR, plus commutes both ends.

-si- What, like there’s never any delays at an airport???

I’m still flabbergasted a return train journey is £550 ffs.

The belfast to dublin train is about 40 quid return lol.

British railways are a fucking joke. Just bought a first class ticket from Beijing to Shanghai (or, rather, work have) on the bullet train for abar hundred quid.

        • Amps replied to this.

Three hundred quid almost on the nose the last time I did Chester to London at peak time (same company and similar distance), so the robbing bastards have put it up another 20% or so in just a couple of years.

But have the Chineses sold off their railways and other national infrastructure in an unjustified attempt to Brewster their middle classes?

No, railways should 100% be nationalised, that’s something you and I most likely agree on.

A natural monopoly should be run in the public interest.

          • Amps replied to this.

That journey, by the way, is 663 miles. Standard class is about 65 quid.

Correct, I’d just extend it to nearly all national infrastructure, or at least the bits that are critical, and the bits that most enrich the country… this is the thing that for me shows the holes in the Tory ‘patriotism’ lie. To be in control of your own infrastructure and cash flow are the basics of what a government should be doing, it’s the most patriotic thing you could do, but they wrap themselves in the flag, peddle immigration gimmicks whilst letting more in, and asset strip the country.
