hugopal Amps considering the Hör and Mixmag sets are both youtube videos I’m well aware they’re a female. Mixmag have always been the most trash of all the dance music publications. Looking at their youtube numbers it doesn’t seem that their following is especially big either.
Amps hugopal I think it’s just one girl. Yeah, Mixmag look less and less relevant these days. I’m always mildly amused at the idea of hardcore, happy or otherwise, making a come back, or even being a thing anywhere on the planet.
bosstrabs hugopal Mixmag was absolute trash as a read but it was good for three things: the club listings at the back, the past month’s Essential Mix tracklistings and the free covermount CDs which went through a sustained spell of being quite brilliant from about 1997 to 2000.
rhouses alistair I’d be lying if I didn’t say the same, on repeat since you posted that clip. Makes me want to do drugs. On a more chiller vibe, PNAU’s seminal remix of Elton John and Dua Lipa’s Cold Heart. Will post when I’m back on the laptop.
hugopal Amps I think it’s just one girl. “They” can also be used to refer to any singular person. Amps Yeah, Mixmag look less and less relevant these days. Even when music mags were big, Mixmag was always the trashiest. It’s therefore been no surprise to me that the few times I’ve happened upon their online presence in recent years they’ve generally been pushing nonsense.
Dan hugopal It was always house related with a token interviews with other genres. Muzik was much better…. especially in its first few years. Jockey Slut was also a decent read.
Amps hugopal “They” can also be used to refer to any singular person. Yeah… but does it not sound a bit mad?
hugopal alistair ooh, I don’t know. Remember M8? I don’t. Dan Muzik was much better Yeah, I regularly bought Muzik as well as DJ Mag.
Dubman Such an uplifting track that just builds up with minor key changes, vocal snippets and that piano rift.
alistair Dan will definitely give it a listen. Satoshi Fumi’s Lotus would be in my top 10 for the year and I remember you playing that in an earlier mix
