vinnyt77 There’s a banging chippy not far from us, called Wolfies. https://wolfieshove.co.uk/ They deliver, but just not quite the same. Opening up for carefully distanced takeaway next week, and I can’t fucking wait. Haddock, chips and mushy peas. Salt and vinegar on all three. Tartare sauce not optional IMO.
bosstrabs Curry on fish and chips does happen up north, but it’s a bit eccentric, like the ‘Pie barm’ Most people don’t do it and those who do get looked at a bit weird.
jonattonyeah C_J It is indeed. Sarah, the chef/owner, is brilliant in the kitchen. Got herself on Bourdain’s show not too far from his unfortunate passing.
-si- Anyone dissing curry sauce with a fish supper then bigging up a place serving pie, mash and liquor will be getting pistol whipped!
Hursty If anyone’s been to Cardiff, chips with curry sauce is everywhere. For me, the best chippys allow you to put your own Salt & Vinegar on, although it’s a rare privilege these days. Not a fan of sauce, just loads of salt & vinegar.
